150 jobs gone at Mothercare head office
50 new roles to be created
Mothercare’s head office at Watford is in for a shake-up with Sky News reporting the loss of 150 jobs.
The struggling retailer – which is currently running a 3 for 2 offer on toys - broke the news to around 200 staff members this morning (Wednesday), but said it was creating 50 new roles in the midst of the reorganisation.
The move comes as Mothercare attempts to meet a £19m cost-savings target set by creditors in a rescue plan earlier this year.
The retailer announced plans during the summer to close 60 stores leaving 77 shops open.
