Industry comes to the rescue
Crowdfunding campaign to help toy man David Stephen more than two thirds funded thanks to industry donations
A crowdfunding campaign to help ailing toy industry man David Stephen return to the UK for medical care is well on its way to being funded thanks to the generosity of the toy industry.
Robert Hookway and Wilf Shorrocks set up the crowdfunder ands appealed to the industry to help David, a well-liked trade veteran who was been beset with medical complications since moving to work in the USA.
With a target of £30,000, donators have already raised £25,448, 84 per cent of the total.
Wilf said: "A big thank you to everyone who has donated to help bring David Stephen home. In just under a week we are almost two thirds of the way there but we still need that final third.
"We really need to try to hit the target as soon as possible so we can secure the room we have provisionally reserved for David. It is one of the larger rooms in the facility (which we have been told David really needs because of the level of care he requires) and they don’t come up very often, so we are desperate to ensure we have the funds.
"Please help us and make a donation through our Just giving page and if you are a UK tax payer don’t forget to add Gift Aid"
