Company readies to unveil smartphone printer KiiPix at this week's The Photography Show
Tomy will be showcasing its brand new smartphone printer KiiPix during The Photography Show at NEC Birmingham this week.
Visitors to the show, which takes place 17-20 March, will be able to see firsthand the Kiipx in action, as they print instant retro style photos straight from their smartphone. The innovative new printer does not require batteries, an app or Wi-Fi to use – simply open up the device, place a smartphone on top, press the button and rotate the dial to print out a photo. It will be available at retail in August 2018.
Jorge Augusto, UK Brand Manager, Tomy, said: “We’re very excited to be showcasing the Kiipix printer at The Photography Show and are looking forward to consumer and expert reactions. Instant photography has become extremely popular over the last few years, as new consumers experience the magic and nostalgia of watching a photo come alive in a tangible form.”
Film photography is experiencing a renaissance, as a new generation of consumers fall in love with analogue camera equipment in this fast paced digital age. KiiPix combines both the new and the old, as users can capture and modify photos on their smartphones before instantly printing, vintage style.
The Photography Show is the largest event of its kind in the UK. Launched in 2014, it attracts visitors including professional and enthusiast photographers and organisations from across the imaging industry.
Tomy will be showcasing KiiPix at stand G68 in Hall 5.
