Lucky couple tie the knot in Sylvanian Families-themed ceremony

Sylvanian Families celebrated the marriage of Natalie Eels and Matt Warburton with a once in a lifetime Sylvanian Families themed wedding in December.

The toy brand launched a competition in 2016 to find an avid Sylvanian Families fan who was getting married in 2017, and primary school teacher Natalie – the ultimate Sylvanian Families fan – was a worthy winner.

Natalie treasured her Sylvanian Families collection throughout her childhood and saved the dainty animal toys to pass on to her one-year-old daughter Phoebe. When she suggested the idea to hubby Matthew, 33, he loved the thought of keeping the furry mascots a secret to surprise the children who would be at the wedding.

On 28 December 2017, Natalie and Matt said “I do” while in the company of four Sylvanian Families costume characters, much to the astonishment of their guests. Epoch making toys supplied a five-tier wedding cake adorned with characters from Sylvanian Families, table decorations, props, goody bags for the children, and exclusive gifts for the bride and groom.

Natalie Eels, 32 – born the same year as the global brand launched – said: “I never thought that I would be married with my own little girl in attendance. Now that she’s here, our wedding is all about making her day as special as possible. The introduction of Sylvanian Families characters was so significant as everybody knows how much I loved them as a little girl and I am sure that Phoebe will go on to love them, too.”

Sylvanian Families PR Highlight PR successfully secured coverage for the wedding on the Metro online, Yahoo News, Newsflare, Daily Star, Glasgow Evening Times and Western Daily News.
