Rainbow Designs strengthens sales team
Alison Lakin joins recent hire Denise Carr as National Account Managers
Rainbow Designs has strengthened its position in the industry with the appointments of two National Account Managers.
Alison Lakin joins Denise Carr, who was appointed earlier this year, as key National Account Managers, both bringing a wealth of toy and nursery industry experience to the company.
Zara Grindrod, Sales Director at Rainbow Designs said: “I’m delighted to welcome these two highly experienced individuals to our sales force. It is an exciting time for Rainbow and I’m confident they will continue to provide our retailers with a knowledgeable, informed and consistently excellent service.”
Denise, who joined Rainbow after working for PHP Gift and Baby, brings a great understanding of account management, wholesale distribution, logistics and customer service to her new role. With over a decade of account management experience, she says she is looking forward to growing Rainbow’s accounts, bringing her nursery knowledge to the role and introducing retailers to new lines.
“Having worked with similar accounts for the last five years, I have a good knowledge of retailers and what they are looking for, as well as the nursery environment," said Denise. "Much of the Rainbow product now falls into the nursery side, so I’m pleased to be drawing on my experience while working with wonderful brands such as Miffy, Paddington Bear, Peter Rabbit and Guess How Much I Love You."
Having been in the toy industry for 15 years, Alison has worked as a National Account Manager for companies such as Jumbo Games and Little Tikes. Prior to joining Rainbow, Alison worked at Hacche Retail and was responsible for bringing a new pre-school publishing brand to market which represented titles such as Peter Rabbit and The Snowman. Alison is passionate about the brands she now works with at Rainbow and believes they are a joy to sell: “My experience with classic characters means that working with the many renowned brands at Rainbow is familiar territory and a natural progression," she said.
“I’m looking forward to growing and supporting licences in different channels across all of the retailers, as well as driving business through our full PR and activity schedule planned for next year,” added Alison, who has extensive experience of working with grocers and larger online retailers.
