Card game maker buys US border plot
Cards Against Humanity's latest marketing gimmick sees fans crowdfund purchase of portion of US-Mexico border
Irreverent card game maker Cards Against Humanity has crowdfunded the purchase of a plot of US border land in Texas in a bid to block President Trump's proposed wall.
US customers can own their very own slither of Texan soil for just $15, which Cards Against Humanity promises will also get them six "America-saving surprises this holiday season". The promotion has already sold out all of its 150,000 slots.
The campaign is part of the card company's Black Friday marketing gimmick, a now annual tradition which in the past has seen its fans pay to dig an increasingly large "Holiday Hole" for no apparent reason. That particular stunt raised more than $100,000 in 2016.
