CBeebies hit roars onto DVD and digital HD
School of Roars is an animation for pre-schoolers
Dot To Dot Productions has announced details of a new agreement with that will see its hit pre-school show School of Roars enter the DVD market, courtesy of Precision Pictures.
School of Roars is an animation for pre-schoolers that regularly features in the top-ten rated programmes on CBeebies. The show follows the adventures of five little monsters as they experience school for the very first time and learn monstery lessons in maths, music, cookery and life skills. The show features a stellar cast, with the voice talents of Kathy Burke and Sarah Lancashire and is narrated by Andrew Scott, who plays Moriarty in Sherlock.
The deal with Precision Pictures will see the first School of Roars DVD hit shelves across the UK from July 17th, with digital downloads available from July 3rd.
This adds to the buzz surrounding Dot To Dot, which also produces Footy Pups – the CBeebies show that introduces youngsters to the beautiful game – and Art Ninja on CBBC, which teaches kids how to create their own amazing art at home.
Licensing interest is high for all three shows, with a book deal with Hachette recently signed for School of Roars, whilst a publishing deal for Art Ninja is close to being finalised and a major store chain is ready to sign up for a range of art packs featuring the brand.
“We’re delighted with this new DVD deal,” says Dot To Dot MD Jo Killingley. “We’ve been dedicating a lot of time to licensing recently – we don’t use an agency - and have spoken to many licensors directly, so it’s great to see this success. We’ve got three amazing brands that can all work across any number of properties, so I’m sure there’s plenty more deals to come!”
