Trends UK nominated in Science Toy Awards!
Insta-Snow and Discovery 360° Super HD Microscope both up for prestigious STEM toy award
Trends UK has been shortlisted twice in the Science Toy Awards, which aims to celebrate and support outstanding toys that help develop STEM skills through play.
As finalists Insta-Snow and Discovery 360° Super HD Microscope have been given an independent endorsement by scientists and engineers confirming that these are fantastic STEM learning toys.
The first stage of the Science Toys Award took place at the Imperial Festival at Imperial College London, attended by 18,000 people from 5-7 May. Insta-Snow and Discovery 360° Super HD Microscope were featured prominently and demoed to thousands of families with kids attending the event. During the Imperial Festival, an expert judging panel chose the top STEM toys to go through in the Science Toy Awards. The next stage takes place in schools and will be judged by students and teachers, with the final announcement of the overall winners taking place in October.
The Science Toy Award aims to celebrate and support outstanding toys that help develop STEM skills through play. The awards are judged by scientists and engineers, as well as UK school children. The awards aim to encourage children learning and engaging in science, technology, mathematics and engineering (STEM) through play and that certain toys have the quality of helping develop STEM skills. The organisers believe that a child should have the opportunity to be exposed to these type of toys, as they probably have an impact in how confident a child may feel in STEM related topics.
