LeapFrog’s new educational toy recommended by 97% of UK primary school teachers

LeapFrog has once again partnered with leading child development website iChild to showcase the learning credentials of LeapStart, its new interactive learning system.

LeapFrog and iChild worked with 100 schools across the UK, providing 200 primary school teachers with LeapStarts to use in classrooms with children aged between four and seven, including special educational needs (SEN) pupils, for a two month research period.

LeapStart received top marks across the board, with 97 per cent recommending the device to parents to help equip their children with the skills needed to start school.

80 per cent of teachers would recommend LeapStart to other teachers

Many participants noted that even their youngest pupils (LeapStart caters for ages two to seven), were able to use the device independently after initial basic instruction. Furthermore, 91 per cent agreed that LeapStart supported the national curriculum and was a great asset to any classroom, and 80 per cent would recommend the device to other teachers. Nearly three quarters (71 per cent) also noted it made a positive difference to their pupils’ attitude towards a particular subject.

Sally Walker, Managing Director of LeapFrog UK, said: “LeapStart has gone from strength to strength since its launch in July and is already proving itself as a key player in the market. The feedback from primary school teachers truly highlights its unquestionable educational value and the supportive learning role it can play in the home, especially at this pivotal time as parents look for ways to ensure their child is ready for that all-important first day of school.

The iChild survey results follow a successful launch period for LeapStart. Sales have surpassed initial forecasts following an impactful marketing campaign, which will continue into Christmas.

The LeapStart interactive learning system has been designed by a dedicated team of educational experts, and is available across two age ranges: one for Pre-school children and one for children in their first years of Primary school. Visit www.leapfrog.com/en-gb/products/leapstart to learn more.
