Strong retail performance of HTI's Barbie Glam Bag leads to doubling of production to meet demand
Following industry award wins, national retailer top Christmas listings, an impactful first blast of a superb TV advertising campaign and a pinktastic PR campaign, sales of the Barbie & Me Colour Change Glam Bag have rocketed into another glamtastic dimension!
HTI, manufacturer of the exciting new Barbie Colour Change Glam bag (under license from Mattel Consumer Products), has been inundated with repeat orders from retailers since the bag launched on to the retail market mid July 2014.
“We are absolutely delighted with the reaction that the bag has had so far at retail and the incredible demand for this innovative line," said Andrea Lenehan, HTI’s Barbie Brand Manager. "Our production rates are now double the initial forecast and we have more stock on the water to satisfy incremental domestic orders.”
The Barbie Colour Change Glam Bag magically changes colour to match any outfit! Simply hold it against any coloured item of clothing and press the button to match over 100 different shades. It comes with lots of fab, clip-on Barbie accessories, so that it can be personalised to suit any style statement and also includes a mini matching hand bag for the girl’s own Barbie doll – the perfect accessory for little girls aged 3-7 years.
The TV advertising campaign featuring a high energy 20 second commercial launched on air 28 July for an initial three week blast. The campaign hits TV screens again from early September and will run through to mid November across UK and ROI full network TV channels.
Andrea added: “We knew back at Toy Fair this year that the Barbie Colour Change Glam Bag was an awesome line that girls were going to love but sales have by far exceeded our expectations. Retailers have been overwhelmed with enquiries about the bag which has translated into additional orders. Stock allocations are now going fast – it’s going to be a very colourful Christmas!”
